How to change DNS Server on Windows, Mac, iOS and Android

By default, your computer will automatically obtain the Internet Information Service (ISP) DNS. Sometimes, DNS Servers are unstable and you are blocked from accessing certain websites. Or the default DNS server blocked some sites for some reason. In this case, you should change the DNS Server using the Public DNS Server for free.
1. Why change the DNS Server?
By default, your computer will automatically obtain the Internet Information Service (ISP) DNS. Sometimes, DNS Servers are unstable and block you from visiting websites. Or the default DNS server blocked some sites for some reason.
Using a 3rd DNS server like Google Public DNS will help you:
Fix DNS errors.
Increase the response time between the computer and the DNS Server.
Ability to access blocked websites.
Protect your information more securely and protect your computer against phishing attacks and other attackers.
2. Change the DNS Server on Windows
To change the DNS Server on your Windows 10 product key computer, first press the Windows product key, then enter the Network and Sharing Center keyword into the Search box and select the Network and Sharing Center option on the list of results.
In addition, you can open the Network and Sharing Center by opening Control Panel => Network and Internet => Network and Sharing Center.
Select the current Internet connection that you are using then select Properties.
Double-click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP / IPv4). Select Use the following DNS server addresses, and then type Preferred and Alternate DNS Servers.
Check the option Validate settings upon exit and then click OK.
Finally open the Command Prompt and enter ipconfig / flushdns into the Command Prompt window to clear all existing DNS cache.
3. How to change DNS Server on Mac OS X
To change the DNS Server on Mac OS X, first click on the Apple logo and select System Preferences.
Next select Network.
On the Network interface you switch to the DNS tab. Click the + icon to replace / add Preferred DNS Server with the new IP address.
Click next to the + symbol again to replace / add Alternate DNS Server to the new IP address.
Finally click OK and then click Apply to save the changes.
4. Change the DNS Server on your iOS device
To change the DNS Server on your iOS device, go to Settings and select Wifi.
Next select the Wifi connection you are currently using.
Click on the DNS entry then replace the existing DNS Server with the new DNS Server.
Finally click on the icon to go back to save changes.
